The Times reports the exciting news that Real Ale sales in the UK are climbing according to SIBA.

While crap beer sales fell approx 7.2% in Q2 2008, Real Ale sales have increased 8.1% over the first 6 months.

This increase is take from SIBA’s figures on it’s direct distribution from smaller UK Brewers to 3,000 odd pubs. Still, rock and roll. Maybe soon I won’t have to get nasty to people when they are in a good pub and order something that shouldn’t even be given to dogs to make them drunk.

iBeer Sue iPint – Who Cares – Give Me Real Beer!

The release of the Apple iPhone 3G and the Apps Store has created a whole heap of interesting and useful mobile applications BUT not including the iPint. A virtual application for Carling.

I’m not sure what it does and never want to find out…something like you can drink a pretend glass of Carling. Now, personally I won’t ever let that crap beer touch my lips in real life so I’m not sure why anyone would want to do this virtually.

And now, apparantely iBeer who had the idea first are suing the Carling ad agency behind iPint. Who cares. Why doesn’t Coors or whoever makes Carling just put all their money into making something people want to really drink.
